My Dystopian Dream Come True

Anyone who has followed me at any time in my career as an author has probably seen or heard my answer to the question/prompt: “What is a dream project” (or similar). My answers have never changed.

And if you know me, you know what they are. Feel free to look them up on Bluesky or the ex-twitter. Unfortunately, my Tumblr got nuked at some point, so it’s not there for corroboration, but I said it there also.

Or just take my word for the fact that Shadowrun has been on that list from the jump.

So imagine the amount of jumping (and screaming, and crying) I did when Catalyst hired me to write tie-in fiction….

I’ve been sitting on this news for TOO LONG and I am thrilled to finally be able to announce that my first Shadowrun story, “The Wages of SIN,” will appear in Issue #3 of AUGMENT MAGAZINE, which will be available everywhere August 15th. I will be at Worldcon that day, and also available, especially to people who want to congratulate me, ask for my autograph, snap a selfie, or buy me a drink.

I still can’t believe I have a dream this big coming true. A million grateful thanks to my Hugo-Nominated editor, Jennifer Brozek, for this amazing opportunity.
